| Dementia is the progressive decline in cognitive function due to damage or disease in the brain beyond what might be expected from normal aging. Although dementia is far more common in the geriatric population, it may occur in any stage of adulthood. Diane's mother suffered from dementia in the last few months of her life. This is very painful for those around the one with the condition. To lose someone emotionally is almost as difficult as losing them physically. |
| Transplantation is one of the most remarkable success stories in the history of medicine. But despite continuing advances in medicine and technology, the need for organs and tissue is vastly greater than the number available for transplantation. Transplantation gives hope to thousands of people with organ failure and provides many others with active and renewed lives. Debbie's oldest daughter was a donor after a car accident took her life, It is something that KC felt strong about doing. And we are proud to honor her. |
